Loretta's love of people, animals, music, and figurative art comes bounding off the canvas in her oil portraits. From music wall art to goddess art to wildlife art, Loretta's unique style of oil painting captures the essence of her subjects, their very inner beings, in every oil portrait.
Her Jazz Art Series (entitled Smokin' Music Icons) was inspired by her love of music and special fondness for jazz and blues. Her attraction toward jazz art was further enhanced when she encountered Herman Leonard's portrait photography. Compelled by his expert capture of the jazz era in black & white, Loretta set out to capture the era again; this time in oil paintings with all the color, flare and personality of the live jazz genre. A "must see " for the jazz art and music wall art lover.

Loretta's subsequent series, Musical Animals, is a whimsically enlightening experience in wildlife art, bringing into focus the intuitive nature and creative impulse expressed by both music and animals. Loretta combines music wall art with wildlife art in her own unique style creating a fun figurative art form that seems ready to spring to life at any moment.
The Goddess Art Series is a collaborative effort with artist John Foxy. John was drawn to the "color and flare"" of Loretta's jazz art series and promptly proposed this figurative art project. Loretta's goddess art portraits are powerful projections of the gentle femininity, unrelenting strength, and sheer beauty of womanhood. With this goddess art series, the artist expresses what she believes is innate within every woman.
Commissioned portraits are also available, including but not limited to family and pet portraits. Loretta's skill in projecting the likenesses and personality of her subject from the canvas never ceases to delight. Her attention to recognizing the whole life and many essences of her subject's spirit is evident in all of her oil paintings and pet portraits, often utilizing several images in the oil painting for that purpose.
In addition to being an absolutely magical figurative artist, Loretta McNair is also a very accomplished singer-songwriter with a penchant for the jazz standards of the 1940's. Please visit her music website at www.lorettamcnair.com or Facebook
